Strictly fans go wild as they spot Lacey Turner in audience supporting EastEnders co-star James Bye

Strictly Come Dancing fans went wild on Saturday night as they spotted Lacey Turner in the audience.

The Stacey Slater star, 34, was supporting EastEnders co-star James Bye, who performed a Tango to Bad Habits by Ed Sheeran with pro partner Amy Dowden.

As Martin Fowler star James and Amy received their feedback from the judges, scoring 24, the camera panned onto the audience as a cheering Lacey was seen supporting her co-star.

Eagle-eyed viewers were quick to react to the scene as one person tweeted: "Lacey Turner in the audience!! #strictly."

A different account put: "LACEY IN THE AUDIENCE #Strictly" with heart emojis.

Another follower wrote: "OMGGGG LACEY IN THE CROWD FOR JAMES #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing."

While a different viewer added: "Much better from James this week love that Lacey is in the audience this week to support him #Strictly."

After the show, Lacey took to her Instagram to share a snap taken by Amy in the studio with the caption #TeamBye and a heart.

In the photo, Lacey, James and Amy all pose in front of Strictly's iconic stairs, the pro dancer penned: "Thank you @LaceyTurner" with heart emojis.

It comes after Lacey previously told OK! in the past: "I have been asked to go on Strictly but I’m rubbish at dancing and I don’t really have the guts. I'd do it if it wasn’t on telly – I just don’t like being on TV!"

Elsewhere, James has revealed his fellow EastEnders star and the reigning Strictly Come Dancing champion Rose Ayling-Ellis offered him advice before he took to the dancefloor.

The 38-year-old British actor, who has played Martin Fowler in the BBC One soap since 2014, is currently competing in the new series of Strictly.

Speaking alongside his professional partner Amy ahead of Sunday evening’s results show, James said: "Rose is just like a ray of sunshine and her only advice to me was just take every second in as it goes so quick.

"Bear in mind she was there every week, she did the full thing and she said even that went so fast."

He continued: "You make friends so quickly, don’t throw anything away, just enjoy every moment and that’s sort of what we’re doing to be fair.

"I don’t feel like I’m wasting any moment, we are going for it, every opportunity."

Rose, 27, won the nineteenth series of Strictly in 2021 with partner Giovanni Pernice after she become the first deaf contestant to compete in the popular dancing competition.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One.
