Strictly Come Dancing pro Giovanni Pernice has opened up about his love life to show judge Anton Du Beke following his rumoured split from co-star Jowita Przystal. The couple are reported to have separated after just a few months of dating. They were alleged to have first got together in December last year.

While working on a new travel show with Anton, Giovanni opened up about his romantic situation.

The pair are starring in a new travel series together, in which Giovanni shows Anton around where he grew up.

Anton and Giovanni: Adventures in Sicily follows the pair as they tour the island.

Along the way, they try out various activities – from octopus fishing to paddle boarding.

Chatting with his co-star Giovanni explained that he is too focused on his career to settle down.

He said: “My mum always says to me, ‘so what is the situation?’

“You know, because obviously, every time I date a girl, I always tell her and ask, ‘what do you think about this.’

“Bless her, she saw so many passing by and she asks ‘is she the one?’ and she says ‘You know I want a baby before I pass away’,” he told Anton.

“Of course, I want to have a family one day you know, I just have to find the right person first,” he continued in the clip shared by The Mirror.

“I’m just very focused on my career, as you were at my age,” he told Anton.

“I always say it as a bit of a joke, but I mean it, when I grow up I want to be Anton Du Beke.”

Reassuringly, Anton told him he understands and added that he’ll be a great dad one day.

Anton only became a father himself at age 50 in 2017, when he and his wife Hannah welcomed twins, George and Henrietta.

Hannah had a long-term struggle with endometriosis which forced them to go down the IVF route.

He reflected on their journey on the Parenting Hell podcast at the end of last year.

He said that Hannah is “the ‘most incredible mum” calling the fact she couldn’t conceive naturally “the saddest irony”.

Earlier this month, Giovanni seemed to accidentally confirm a romance with Jowita during an interview slip-up, where he referred to them as “we”.

Although he had said that he wasn’t going to discuss the romance rumours, he accidentally mentioned them as a couple by saying: “We are not talking about anything.”

However, the pair have now supposedly split with Giovanni busy with his Made In Italy theatre tour.

In the past, Giovanni has been linked with stars including Love Island’s Maura Higgins and TOWIE’s Jess Wright.

Anton and Giovanni: Adventures in Sicily begins on March 21 on BBC One.
