Strictly’s Rose Ayling Ellis and Giovanni’s hidden signals to each other exposed

Ever since they were crowned the winners of Strictly Come Dancing last year, Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice’s relationship has gone from strength to strength.

The EastEnders actor and professional dancer undeniably share a close bond, having won the nation's hearts last year as well as the hit dancing show.

Over the past year, Rose, 27, and Giovanni, 32, have proved their friendship is unbreakable.

And it seems even a year on since they lifted the prestigious glitterball trophy, the two still have their secret signals to one another.

Giovanni learned sign language last year

Rose made history as the show’s first-ever deaf contestant last year, and pro dancer Giovanni was more than happy to learn the language.

During their stint on last year’s series of the hit dancing show, the pair often topped the leaderboard each week, with them eventually being crowned the winners.

On week four, shortly after their jaw-dropping routine, co-host Claudia Winkleman spoke to them about Gio learning BSL, reports Mirror.

“Giovanni you have been learning so much signing," Claudia said, before adding: "Can you give us a taste please?"

Rose jumped in and tested Gio by saying words such as “commitment, focus, quick, slow, improvement, and shockingly horrible.”

She then joked adding: "And very rarely, 'well done'," as the both of them cracked up laughing.

"You're both fantastic, well done!" Claudia said.

Giovanni’s secret signal during 2022 show

During their stint on Strictly last year, Rose and Giovanni often thanked their supporters for voting them through by repeating: “Thank you, thank you, thank you,” while signing.

During the latest series of the hit dancing show, the Italian dancer was paired with radio DJ Richie Anderson.

Unfortunately, the two were eliminated on week two, after a tough dance off with Fleur East.

However, at the start of the series, The Metro claimed Gio used sign language yet again to thank the public for voting him and Richie through.

Just when you thought their relationship couldn’t get any sweeter, last year Giovanni called Rose “beautiful” in leaked microphone audio.

The Italian hunk was captured whispering the word 'beautiful' into Rose's ear repeatedly following their performance at the semi-finals last year.

The pair were performing a stunning Waltz to Ellie Goulding’s How Long Will I Love You.

Once the routine was over, Rose was heard giggling as Giovanni told her “beautiful” in an unseen clip, as Mirror reports.
