‘The Bachelorette’ Recap: Fantasy Suites Takes a Bitter Turn

In the new episode of the ABC dating show, Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey each bring their final three suitors to Riviera Maya, Mexico where they’re given chances to enjoy Fantasy Suites.

AceShowbiz -Following Hometown Dates, it’s finally Fantasy Suites week on “The Bachelorette“. In the Monday, September 5 episode of the ABC dating show, Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey each brought their final three suitors to Riviera Maya, Mexico.

In the beginning of the episode, the two ladies sat down and enjoyed some champagne to celebrate how far they had made it in their joint season. Rachel admitted that she had issues with each of her three men. She felt like Tino’s parents hate her. While she admitted that Zach is perfect, Rachel said, “I don’t think I’m there with Zach.” She’s falling for Aven, but was too scared to tell him that yet.

As for Gabby, she wasn’t sure about Jason’s feelings for her. She also doubted that Johnny’s ready to get engaged. Gabby and Erich had said that they’re “falling in love” with each other, but she felt like feelings “can definitely change.”

Gabby’s first date was with Erich. They told each other the L word, but Erich was bothered with the fact that there were two other guys which prompted him to think if he’s really the one for Gabby. During their first portion of their date, they enjoyed their time together in the water. Later during dinner, the two opened up more about their families.

Erich also expressed his feelings for Gabby, saying, “I am in love with you, Gabby, and I don’t want to leave here without you.” Gabby, meanwhile, told him that she’s “falling in love” with him. They both said a quick “yes” to the Fantasy Suite invite as Gabby noted she wanted them to “feel each other’s love.” In the morning, they were giggly. She revealed in a confessional she’s in love with him but wanted to “save it for the right moment.”

Later, it was Rachel’s turn to have a date with Aven. They boarded a yacht and Aven was convinced that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Rachel. Rachel, meanwhile, knew that she loves him but she didn’t want to carelessly throw the word. Following their romantic date, they headed to the Fantasy Suite. In the next morning, Rachel said she’s “on a different level with him right now.”

Rachel and Tino then went on a date. They rode horses together before they had a heart-to-heart conversation. Rachel admitted to Tino that she felt anxious, though she didn’t explain why. In her confessional, Rachel said that all she wanted from their hometown date was “acceptance,” but she didn’t get that from his family. Rachel eventually opened up about the matter to Tino during dinner. Tino then assured Rachel that his family would eventually come around. The pair then went up to the Fantasy Suite.

Gabby and Johnny also had a great time during their date. They enjoyed a sailboat ride together and Johnny called her “the dopest girl I’ve ever hung with.” At one point, Gabby asked Johnny if he’s ready for an engagement, to which Johnny replied, “That’s a hard thing to think about. It’s like a battle in my head.” That was obviously not the answer that Gabby wished to get, so Johnny was eliminated.

Apparently, Johnny wasn’t the only one who wasn’t ready to get engaged. Jason, another Gabby’s man, told host Jesse Palmer that he’s “not quite there just yet.” He added, “It’s hard for me to get to the point of engagement.”

Meanwhile, Gabby received a mysterious note that was slipped under the door of her hotel room that read, “I need to see you. I’ll be waiting on the bridge….” It was actually from Erich, who said that if felt like he was cheated on when he pictured Gabby went on Fantasy Suite dates with others.

That didn’t sit well with Gabby. She felt like he’s testing her, and that’s “not something you do to someone that you love.” She was skeptical that she would end up with anyone when the show is over as she said, “This feels like the end for me.”

The preview of the next episode does hint at lots of tears and heartbreak. Zach can be seen telling Jesse that after his Fantasy Suite date with Rachel, “everything did a 180… I felt blindsided.” Jason, meanwhile, tells Gabby, “I don’t fully feel like I know who you are.” Heartbroken, Gabby wonders while sobbing, “Am I too broken for anyone to love?”
