The Chase fans weren't pleased as they suspected ITV had shown a repeat of an old episode.

Fans took to Twitter to moan about the repeated episode as some claimed to have recognised the contestants, Dan, Nadin, Marcus and Analiese.

"#thechase Remember that! Another repeat," one fan tweeted.

Another realised the show was a repeat when they referenced the Chinese zodiac for last year. They wrote: "Year of the Tiger? At least I know now when this episode was filmed #TheChase."

A third wrote: "Is this a repeat!? Sure I’ve seen this bloke before? #thechase"

But a fourth replied, stating that the hilarious moment where contestant Dan ditched presenter Bradley Walsh at the quizzing table, avoiding the usual debrief, was shown in The Chase's bloopers show.

"He must of been featured on the bloopers clip," they responded.

Another added: "Think Dan was in the bloopers episodes #TheChase."

Other fans realised the show was an old episode after a question asked by Bradley during the cash builder round was no longer factually accurate.

Bradley asked Dan from Leeds what the name of Paddy McGuinness' partner was, with the correct answer being Christine, but as fans know, the pair split last year.

One viewer had clocked on, writing: "Awkward, didn't Paddy leave his wife #TheChase."

Paddy and his former wife Christine confirmed their separation in July 2022 after their relationship was plagued with split rumours. The Top Gear presenter released a statement, explaining that it was "not an easy decision to make."

"We hadn't planned on sharing this publicly until we were ready but after the lack of privacy surrounding our personal life, we feel left with no other option but to clarify," the joint statement started.

"A while ago we took the difficult decision to separate but our main focus as always is to continue loving and supporting our children. This was not an easy decision to make, but we’re moving forward as the best parents we can be for our three beautiful children.

"We'll always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship and still live happily in our family home together," they continued.
