Ryan was left devastated in Coronation Street when he learnt that the person he had been messaging wasn’t actually love interest Crystal, but a catfish.

However, things are set to get even worse when he realises who was actually behind the fake persona, as a new spoiler video shows.

At the moment, Ryan believes acid attacker Justin’s (Andrew Still) sister Karen to be behind the texts, which he opens up to Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) about in the new clip as the pair catch up.

However, their peace is soon shattered by the arrival of Max Turner (Paddy Bever), who has only recently returned to the Street after serving time in an STC for his involvement in Alya’s stabbing.

Alya warns him that he shouldn’t come near her, before excusing herself and making a swift exit.

While Ryan pointed out to a hurt Max that she had every right to be upset, Max explained that he wasn’t all bad, especially considering how he had helped Ryan before.

He explained to a confused Ryan how Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) had lent him Daisy’s phone while in the STC, and how he had passed on the voicemail Ryan had left before collapsing.

As Ryan clarified that the message he had left to Crystal had gone to Daisy’s phone, the realisation of who was really behind the catfishing slowly began to dawn on him.

Actor Ryan Prescott revealed that learning the truth about Daisy being Crystal would leave Ryan feeling ‘humiliated’.

‘The thing is, Ryan has had such an intimate back and forth over the past month or so with ‘Crystal’ that he is genuinely starting to believe that in a different world, in a different time or somewhere down the line that there might be something there with her because they have developed an actual relationship,’ Ryan explained.

‘There has been a lot of natural chemistry between them and Ryan is finding joy in investing in their relationship.

‘So to find out that it’s been Daisy the whole time would make him feel humiliated because he has been very raw and ‘himself’ with this person. He would feel so deceived because it’s such a huge lie to play for such a long time so he would feel like he was a toy and that he’s a game to Daisy.

‘He would feel an explosion of contempt for Daisy because he feels like he has lost Crystal and Daisy in one fell swoop.’

Following the events of this spoiler video, Ryan will confront Daisy over her behaviour, which Charlotte Jordan explained will leave her ‘devastated’.

‘Daisy is devastated because what can she say? She knows she is fully in the wrong so she can only try and justify it from where her intentions were coming from but she knows that it was not the right thing to do and she knows that lying about it was also not the right thing to do but this are decisions she has made so she has to deal with the punishments now.

‘Ryan’s reaction is entirely justified and it’s her own fault! She lies, she’s deceitful and she gets herself into these situations!’
