The World Cup 2022 cancels Coronation Street and Emmerdale tonight

Soap fans, prepare for disappointment tonight (Monday November 21) as Coronation Street and Emmerdale have both been postponed so that ITV can screen tonight’s World Cup match between the USA and Wales.

The match kicks off at 7pm, which means that the usual visits to the Dales and to Weatherfield have been pushed back.

For Emmerdale fans, the next episode airs tomorrow, November 22 at 7pm, and it’s an hour long.

There promises to be high drama as Chloe (Jessie Elland) gets closer to discovering the truth about who Al (Michael Wildman) was having an affair with before he died – but she’s on a bit of a wrong track when she accuses Priya (Fiona Wade) of being the mystery woman with a child who Al bought a house for.

Meanwhile, Samson (Sam Hall) continues to be a total sulky brat about his new baby daughter, much to Sam (James Hooton) and Lydia (Karen Blick)’s dismay.

They do their best to make up for their son’s lack of enthusiasm about being a dad by trying to be involved in Esther’s life. And David (Matthew Wolfenden) is feeling guilty about his recent devious behaviour after he got a speeding fine.

There’ll also be Emmerdale episodes on Wednesday 23 at 7pm and Thursday 24 at 7pm, with both of these being an hour long. No soaps will air on ITV on Friday.
