This Morning social media accounts go silent amid Phillip Schofield scandal as ITV bosses scramble to save show | The Sun

THIS Morning's social media accounts have gone silent amid the Phillip Schofield scandal.

The ITV show's official TikTok, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts haven't posted anything since last week.

This Morning's social media pages are usually very consistent with their posts, sharing clips and images almost every day.

However the last time that their pages were active was Friday last week.

The most recent post that was shared was a video of Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary interviewing Elle Macpherson.

Shortly after that clip, host Phillip Schofield admitted that he had an affair with a "much younger" This Morning worker while still married.

This Morning bosses desperately hunt for new producers amid Schofield scandal

The 61-year-old – who was axed by This Morning earlier this month – quit ITV after the relationship with the male ITV employee was exposed.

In a statement, he said he was "deeply sorry" for the affair which he said was “unwise, but not illegal”.

Phillip was still married to his wife Stephanie Lowe – who he married in 1993 – at the time of the affair.

He opened up about being gay in 2020, but remained married to wife Stephanie.

Phillip Schofield hit with further blow as he's ditched by another brand

Earlier today The Sun revealed This Morning bosses are urgently hunting for new producers for the show.

A job advert went out five days ago calling for “talented and experienced” TV producers – but insiders say there are concerns few strong contenders will now apply.

A source said: "They're desperate to hire in some new staff but everyone's worried the stories about toxic workplaces will scare off applicants."

According to the ad, candidates must have a “strong creative and editorial judgement and thrive on the buzz of working within a live broadcasting environment”, as well as the “ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and within a budget.”

Phillip's co-star and friend Holly Willoughby has insisted she has nothing to hide as she plans to return to This Morning next week – despite calls for her to leave too.
