Auto theft suspect is shot by vehicle owner in Northglenn, police say
A Northglenn resident fired a gun at a man who stole a vehicle from his driveway, hitting the suspect who was arrested later in the day by a neighboring agency, police said.
At about 8 a.m. Wednesday officers responded to the 300 block of Bridgette Drive on a report of a stolen vehicle, police said in a news release.
A vehicle owner saw a man attempting to steal a vehicle from his driveway, and the owner fired a gun at the suspect, police said. The man stealing the vehicle drove off, and it was later found unoccupied a few blocks away.
A neighboring police agency contacted a man who had been shot, and that man is suspected of being the car thief, police said. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition. An investigation is ongoing.
