With the Easter Bank Holiday looming, parts of England can expect sunshine across the four-day weekend, but not before the rain will pass through.

While many areas across the UK can finally look forward to some drier and sunnier weather, it will be a cold start to the Easter weekend for some in the southern and eastern parts of the UK.

The high pressure weather which passed through during the beginning of the week will give way to fronts pushing eastwards, and is set to bring ‘wetter weather’ from Wednesday.

From mid-week the Met Office has warned that Britons should brace for ‘rain and showers spreading east’ and ‘lingering in places on Thursday’.

However, clear spells are expected to return just as the Easter sun hits.

Luckily, Brits who are looking to make the most out of the sunny weather will be able to do so from Good Friday to Easter Monday.

In their latest forecast, the Met Office has predicted that sunny spells will become ‘increasingly common’ across the UK over the first two weeks of April. And there are predictions that temperatures could reach 20C for this period.

But looking at the Easter weekend, according to the Met Office, many parts of the UK ‘are expected to see mostly fine and dry weather’.

While possible heavy showers will follow on from Thursday, the weather forecaster has said said that the weather is set to become ‘drier on Friday and Saturday with overnight frosts.’

For Brits that live in the capital or the surrounding areas, the Met Office has predicted dry and sunny days for Good Friday through to Easter Monday.

Clouds will line the skies, as temperatures will range from 12C to 16C.

And for the south, costal areas such as Cornwall, Devon and Plymouth will experience highs of only 12C to 13C.

Meanwhile, up north, Manchester will experience warmer temperatures of 13C for Easter, while it will be a slightly lower at 11C in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Parts of Scotland, including Edinburgh and Glasgow, will experience a dry and warm weekend, with balmier temperatures of around 13C through the weekend.

Meanwhile, from Friday until Monday, temperatures will top 14C in Cardiff, Wales, on Sunday, while staying around the 12C mark for the rest of the four-day weekend.

As April goes on, the Met Office has forecast that there are chances for wetter and windier weather, with some frosty nights expected.

The forecast for this period reads: ‘Possibly some light rain and drizzle across western areas on Sunday, these conditions being most likely in the far northwest. Remaining dry elsewhere, though with a small chance of isolated light showers in the south.

‘Temperatures around average or slightly above, with light winds, but with winds strengthening in the northwest, feeling cooler as a result. Through mid-April, dry, settled conditions are most likely in southern and eastern parts, with winds most likely to be light.

‘However, across northern and western areas, there will likely be more in the way of cloudy conditions, presenting a greater chance of wet and windier weather. During this period, temperatures are most likely to be close to average or slightly above.’
