Boris Johnson will say his farewell to the nation as they are munching their cornflakes tomorrow with a dawn speech in Downing Street.
The outgoing prime minister has been forced to bring forward an address outside Number 10 due to bad weather expected to affect his flight to see the Queen in Scotland.
He is due to see the monarch, 96, at Balmoral in the Cairngorms later tomorrow morning and to make sure he is not late the 9am speech has been brought forward to 7.30am.
It means that he will make what could be his final mark on UK politics as groggy Brits are munching on tea and toast and preparing to go to work.
He will be followed to Balmoral by Liz Truss, who will see the Queen and be asked to formally form a Government as prime minister.
Mr Johnson might have announced his resignation in July – but it has taken this long to get to the point where he is actually departing.

Boris Johnson will deliver a farewell address outside No10, highlighting his achievements in office.
Aides are expecting the premier will talk up Brexit, the vaccine rollout and the UK’s support for Ukraine.
He will then head to Scotland to tender his resignation to the Queen.
Due to the 96-year-old monarch’s mobility issues there will be a break in tradition, with Mr Johnson’s audience happening at Balmoral rather than Buckingham Palace.

Ms Truss will wait for Mr Johnson to leave, before going in for her own meeting with the Queen – known as ‘kissing hands’.
The monarch will ask the Conservative leader, as head of the largest bloc in the Commons, to form a government.

The newly-installed PM will travel back from Balmoral to Downing Street and address the nation for the first time.
There will be briefings on national security, and they are expected to make many of the senior Cabinet appointments by phone due to the travel pressures.
The aim is to have a full top team in place by the end of the day.

Ms Truss will face off against Keir Starmer for the first time at PMQs in the House of Commons.
This could be a key indicator of how Ms Truss will shape up in her role and the Tories’ prospects at the next general election.
THURSDAY?
A package responding to the energy crisis could potentially be unveiled as early as today, with Ms Truss eager to show she is hitting the ground running.
There is speculation this could be worth as much as £100billion, and freeze bills for up to two years – although consumers might see higher costs for years to offset the liabilities on the government books.
