Bride-to-be and her dachshund mauled by a bull terrier in horror attack weeks before dream wedding | The Sun

A BRIDE-to be and her miniature dachshund were brutally mauled in an unprovoked dog attack.

Isabella Payne had been visiting the Gold Coast dog park in Australia only weeks before her wedding when the unthinkable happened.

A bull terrier began mauling pup Lola as her horrified owner jumped in to save the small dog.

Both Isabella and Lola suffered serious injuries with Lola having to undergo surgery.

Gruesome photos showed the bloody bites and scratches suffered by her owner Isabella as she tried to save her dog.

Her fiancé Jacob Thirkettle created a GoFundMe to help raise money for pup Lola's surgery.

He said: "Seven weeks out from our wedding, one of the worst possible things happened to Lola our three-year-old miniature dachshund and Isabelle my fiance.

"They were both attacked unprovoked and mauled by another dog while at an off-leash dog park on the Gold Coast.

"My fiance was very badly injured trying to extract Lola from the dog's grip. Safe to say that without Isabelle's quick thinking, Lola wouldn't be here with us."

A photo shared on the GoFundMe page showed Lola lying on a blanket with a long stretch of stitches on her neck.
