As Britain gears up for the Coronation of King Charles III next week, revellers in high streets up and down the country gave a taste of what’s to come.
Already, town centres are lined with Union Jack flags and bunting in preparation for the big day on May 6, which is being held for the first time in living memory for most people.
Partygoers hit the tiles last night ahead of the first May Bank Holiday, showing off their summer outfits as temperatures hit 19C (66.2F).
A recreation of Geri Horner’s famous Union Jack dress from her Spice Girls days was among the outfits on show alongside a Teletubby and Top Gun’s Maverick.
Elsewhere, mermaid skirts, laced corsets, tartan kilts and even a naughty vicar made an appearance.

Priests and cardinals were also a chosen theme for fancy dress for these partygoers in Leeds
Cities are braced for an invasion of May Bank Holiday ‘stags and hens’ aimed at partying till the sun rises.
But the top ten list of favourite destinations doesn’t include London, where maybe the prices are too high.
From Bristol, Brighton, Bournemouth, Bath and Belfast, to Edinburgh, Newcastle and Liverpool, bridegrooms will be chained naked to lamp posts and brides-to-be will be faced by male strippers as all sorts of naughties take place.
It’s the busiest weekend for stag and hen dos across the country as the nation prepares for time off.
And it’s followed by King Charles’ Coronation extended holiday weekend to allow for continuous partying for those who have been crafty enough to re-jig their work rotas.
Stagweb.com and gohen.com, two of the UK’s leading stag and hen party providers, predict this weekend is expected to be a staggering 25 per cent busier than the next busiest weekend.
Jon Stainer, creative director of both Stag Web and Go Hen, said people are ready to let their hair down after the long, dreary winter months.
‘The early May Bank Holiday is always one of the busiest weekends of the year as everyone gets an extra day of partying, plus it allows for a comfortable gap between the December and January festivities and the weddings in the summer.

Bristol is set to see the biggest boom in stag and hen dos, with Liverpool a close second and Edinburgh in third.
Jon said ‘Bristol and Liverpool have always been hugely popular destinations for both stag and hens, but the most surprising name on the list is Bath in fourth.
‘Whilst Bath isn’t particularly popular with stags, it’s been the most popular hen party destination in the UK for years due to its stylish vibe, vibrant bar scene, and the world-famous Thermae Spa.
Brighton is fifth on the list – nearly 10 per cent of all Stag Web and Go Hen’s UK bookings are for the seaside city this weekend.
Jon said ‘Brighton has always been popular with hens in particular because it is the perfect mix of a vibrant UK seaside destination and bouncing party city.
‘With a load of incredible activities on offer – both on land and at sea – there’s plenty to take on and conquer when they’re not enjoying those big nights out.
‘Interestingly, all of our groups heading to Brighton this weekend are hen parties with stags preferring to go to places like Bristol, Liverpool and Edinburgh.’
