Mum ditches toilet paper for reusable wipes – but dirty colour horrifies fans

An eco-conscious mum has revealed she now uses reusable cloths instead of toilet paper when going to the loo.

Kara, from Florida, US, showed their family bathroom setup and explained how they clean up and re-use the cloth.

"It doesn't look much different than a normal bathroom and we do have toilet paper for guests and sometimes we use it too, it just depends on the time and the day," she explained.

Kara then showed a white basket on top of the toilet.

She said: "This is where we keep our cloth toilet paper, these are from Amazon.

"They are very durable, not stained, they are all still white."

On the side of the toilet is sprayer that can eject water, as well as a bidet.

"All you do is when you pee or poop, you spray using the bidet or sprayer, then you just wipe one of these and you throw them in a wet bag," the mum said.

"We wash them separately from our laundry using hot water and detergent."

But people were horrified when they saw the cloths and refused to believe that it's clean.

One pointed out: "Babes, they were stained and grey."

"I screamed when I saw the colour of them," another noted.

Kara explained that the cloths are made of bamboo and come as off-white in colour, stressing: "No actual pee or poop goes on these because by the time you wipe, it's just water you're dabbing off of you.

"I'm sure I could add vinegar to brighten them but it doesn't really bother me."

Some said they would give the bidet and sprayer a try, with one saying: "It's no different than drying your bum with your towel when you get out of the shower."
