A lucky Audi driver cheated death when his £40,000 car was flattened by an 18-tonne lorry during a horrific crash.
Stunned police said it was a ‘miracle’ the driver walked away with only minor injuries following the accident that took place on the M6 in the early hours of today.
Dramatic images show a white Audi A5 wedged under the HGV between Junction 8 and Junction 9 near Walsall, West Midlands.
It is understood the driver crashed into the back of the lorry which was stationary at the time.
Central Motorway Police Group (CMPG) tweeted photographs of the crash scene which closed the motorway in both directions for two hours.

CMPG tweeted: ‘Quite miraculously, the driver of this Audi has walked away with only minor injuries after a collision with a stationary HGV (J8-J9 of M6) When people ask why do Motorway Officers deal with people for driving without due care & attention, here is your answer!’
The collision happened hours after drivers faced chaos on the M6 near Junction 10 after another lorry crashed into a car and flipped over the central reservation.
