Driver returns to his car to find a COUCH had fallen out of the sky and smashed his vehicle

A Sydney resident woke up to find that a couch had fallen from the sky and smashed their car. 

The Toyota Yaris was parked on the side of Jones Street in inner city Ultimo on Thursday night when a couch fell from a balcony and crushed it.

The couch burst through a tree as it fell, bringing branches and foliage down with it.

The couch reportedly fell from a balcony above the vehicle which was parked on the side of a quiet street (above)

Pictures show the couch shattered the hatchback’s windscreen and crushed it inward. 

However, the vehicle seems to have escaped major panel damage. 

No one was injured in the incident.
