Evil thug who stabbed mum in face with screwdrivers and caused 199 injuries in 'merciless' killing is jailed | The Sun

A VIOLENT thug who stabbed a mum in the face with screwdrivers and inflicted 199 injuries in a "merciless" killing has been jailed.

Mckyla Taylor, 27, suffered a fatal blow that penetrated her skull and punctured the brain during the frenzied attack by David Jackson.

The 68-year-old then cut the straps on her top and the front of her bra before covering the mum, who had a four-month-old baby in a duvet.

He then weighted Mckyla's body down with weights and push bikes.

When he was arrested, Jackson attempted to explain away injuries Mckyla caused him as she fought for her life by saying: "Oh. She was already dead when I was stabbing her."

He also asked if he could get a jumper from his flat and then casually mentioned to an officer that he had killed someone upstairs.

Mckyla's mother branded Jackson "an evil man" as she spoke of her torment at her daughter's killing.

She said: "The agony you have put me and my family through will forever leave its scars.

"How can you live with yourself knowing what you have done?

"All she ever wanted was to be a mummy. She only got that for four short months before you snatched all that away from her."

The court heard Jackson and Mckyla had been in a "mutually dependent relationship" in which he paid her for drugs and sexual services.

The thug was on bail at the time of the killing for assaulting the mum while she was seven months pregnant.

He also attempted to assault her with a rake in a separate attack and had previous convictions for sex offences.

On August 15 last year, Jackson launched into the savage attack in the bedroom of his home in Worksop, Nottinghamshire.

He used two screwdrivers to stab Mckyla repeatedly in the face and inflicted 199 separate injuries as he hacked at the mum.

After the brutal killing, Jackson left police to be greeted by a "grotesque and obscene spectacle" when they forced entry to his home.

They discoveredMckyla on the bed dead on the bed with horrific facial injuries and blood splattered on the walls.

Prosecutor Chris Aspinall said: "She attempted in vain to fend off his onslaught.

"She was literally fighting for her life. It must have been a painful and terrifying ordeal."
