A SAVVY shopper successfully bought an entire Christmas dinner for her whole house for under £10.

Lilly picked up the budget haul from Tesco, and even came out of her low-cost shop with change.


In her TikTok video, intern Lilly from @christiansagainstpoverty, managed to buy an entire meal -including dessert.

The total meal came to £9.86 and boasted brussel sprouts, carrots, chicken, cranberry sauce and gravy. 

Lilly said: “We did it! That was so much harder than I expected.

"But we have change and, I think, a very good Christmas dinner.”

Lilly was challenged to buy a meal for three on a shoestring budget. 

Up to the task, Lilly said: “I’m inspired!”

She scanned the shelves for the essential meat and veg before picking up “house favourite” Yorkshire puddings. 

For dessert, Lilly opted for chocolate spread and puff pastry with the hope of making a Christmas-tree shaped pudding.

The student budget Christmas dinner video has racked up over 100,000 views.

It comes as the cost of living crisis has left many families with concerns about the price of festivities this year. 

Christmas dinner will reportedly cost Brits an extra £5 this year as food costs soar. 

Major supermarkets like Tesco have been cutting prices to help out.
