I was left looking like Quasimodo after I was battered with a hammer by a love rival but she's walked free – it's a joke | The Sun

A WOMAN says she was left looking like Quasimodo after a love rival battered her with a hammer – the attacker has now walked free.

Jayde Logan, 31, was left fearing for her life when Kaya Price, 25, launched into the vicious attack.

The horror happened on the streets of Newport, Wales, back in May 2021.

Price was high on cocaine and alcohol when she burst into a jealous rage after seeing her ex and Jayde at a party together.

The hammer-wielding thug avoided jail and was only handed a 12-month suspended sentence after pleading guilty in January.

Jayde, who's real name is Naeema Nassa, has since slammed the UK justice system as a "joke" for the lax sentencing.

The caterer was left with a huge scar on her forehead, which needed stitches, a swollen eye and a bust-up lip.

She has now told The Sun Online how she was left looking like Quasimodo from Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame following the assault.

Jayde said: "Kaya could’ve blinded or worse, killed me.

"I’ve been left with a horrible scar on my forehead and constant headaches.

"It’s disgusting she’s not behind bars. If it’d been a man who’d attacked me, he’d be in jail.

"She’s basically got off scott-free, while I’m still living with the effects of her attack.

"What does it take for someone to receive a prison sentence?

"This country’s justice system is a joke. There’s no justice."

Jayde met her now ex in October 2020 but split shortly after in April 2021.

Just one month later, the pair bumped into each other at a house party before going outside to have a chat and exchange a hug.

Jayde said: "When we hugged, I heard a girl shouting my name in the street.

"As she approached, I had no idea who she was."

Jayde's ex made a dash as Price emerged from a block of flats screaming "come on then" and "fight me".

Jayde said: "I had no idea who she was and asked her what she was doing.

"Suddenly, she saw red, grabbed me and whacked me in the head with something shiny."

My head was pounding and blood poured from it

Price then hit her multiple times in the head and again in the side of the jaw.

Jayde added: “My head was pounding and blood poured from it.

"My friends yelled at her to stop and managed to restrain her.

"By this point, I was seeing stars and struggled to stand. Then I heard sirens, before passing out.

"I couldn’t stop crying. I was badly concussed and had the worst headache.

"When I went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror for the first time, I broke down.

"My face was swollen and my left eye had completely fused shut.

"My face was wonky. I looked like Quasimodo. I was a mess."

Soon after she woke up in hospital, the consultant arrived and explained how she had suffered a head injury and received 14 stitches – adding she was lucky she wasn’t blinded.

Price walked away from court a free woman at the start of the year and Jayde now wants to put it behind her.

She said: "Now I suffer from painful headaches and nerve damage to my jaw.
