  • Twitter users responded to the video by saying Lara was ‘abusive’

Lara Trump has sparked criticism after she posted to Instagram a video of her 5-year-old son driving a toy vehicle in Hurricane Ian downpour.

Eric L. Trump, who goes by his middle name, Luke, is the son of Lara and Eric.

He is seen shielding his eyes and clinching his knees together as the rain pours over him.

‘Thought we had a clear window, turns out we did some character building instead,’ the caption reads. ‘Stay safe everyone!’

The family lives in Jupiter, Florida, which is experiencing heavy rainfall and winds as a result of the Category 4 storm.

‘Oh my God, Luke,’ Lara says in the video.

‘Come on, you can do it, let’s go,’ she continues as she pans toward the rainfall ahead of them.

After the video was circulated by other Twitter users, backlash immediately ensued.

‘I don’t know what’s worse – that she did this to him, or that she filmed it and then posted it as some sort of brag,’ one user wrote.

‘She’s demonstrating how the family creates monsters,’ another replied.

‘I noticed she’s probably filming under an umbrella,’ one scoffs. ‘Maybe she already has enough character.’

Another was more direct: ‘This seems abusive.’

Several users suggested calling Child Protective Services.

‘That poor kid should’ve just kept driving until he made it to the Child Services parking lot,’ one comment reads.

Lara previously received social media backlash after posting a video in October 2021 of her drinking Trump-branded rosé beside a lit Trump-branded candle while her daughter, Carolina, cried next to her.
