Man, 41, run down and killed by his own car as he worked on it on his driveway in mystery tragedy as cops appeal for vid | The Sun

COPS are appealing for information and footage after a man, 41, was killed when he was run down by his own car while working on it in his driveway.

The victim died of his injuries on the afternoon of April 1 after the vehicle moved suddenly outside a house in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

Investigators are now asking anyone who witnessed the tragedy or may have caught it on dash cam footage to come forward.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Police said: "At around 4.50pm on Saturday police received a report of an incident on Broad Oak Way involving a vehicle.

"It is believed that a 41-year-old man had been working on a black car on a driveway when, for reasons not yet known, the vehicle has moved, seriously injuring the man.

"The man’s injuries sadly proved fatal."

It is not currently known what caused the black-coloured car to move.

Sergeant David McIlwhan from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: "We are investigating the circumstances of this incident.

"If you were passing when or just before the incident happened or have dashcam footage that could help us understand what happened, we would like to speak to you."
