‘Mass casualties’ as gas tanker sets off horror chain explosion near hospital

A gas tanker has exploded sparking an apocalyptic fireball near a hospital, with reports of "mass casualties".

The incident took place at Boksburg, Gauteng in South Africa, on Saturday morning after a gas truck was reportedly involved in an accident.

According to local media, the truck exploded on Hospital Road, a few metres from OR Tambo Memorial Hospital.

Video shared on Twitter shows the moment the tanker explodes, rocking the camera from distance.
