Schoolboy pedestrian, 7, killed after being hit by a car in horror Plymstock crash as driver, 55, arrested | The Sun

A SCHOOLBOY, 7, has been killed after being hit in a horror car crash as the driver has been arrested.

Emergency Services were called at around 11.10am today to a report of a collision involving a car and a child pedestrian on Wembury Road, Plymstock.

The incident took place near to the Plymstock Albion Oaks Rugby Club.

A seven-year-old boy sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Police have since been informed that he has sadly died.

His next of kin have been informed.

A 55-year-old man from Plymouth, Devon, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.

He remains in police custody at this time.

The road currently remains closed and officers from the Roads Policing Team are carrying out investigations at the scene.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and has dash cam footage or any information which may help with the police enquiry is asked to report it online here quoting log 331 of 19 February.
