Slacking nurse struck off after binge-watching Netflix and sleeping on the job | The Sun

A NURSE who slept on duty, binge watched Netflix for hours and bullied an elderly woman patient has been struck off.

Staff said Susan Hughes watched the TV service with headphones in while doing paperwork — which she admitted.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council also heard she slept with her feet on the desk at Charlotte House Care Home, in Bebington, Wirral, which she denied.

Hughes was ruled to have put a crying patient at risk by dragging and throwing her on a bed.

One witness said: "Susan used to watch Netflix every night and would finish watching it at around 10.30pm after she had finished the medication.

"She would watch it for hours on end. She would watch it in the reception area on her phone with ear phones in."

Another witness said: "I saw Susan sleep on duty every shift I worked with her. She would be on reception with her feet on the desk.

"She used to sleep for an hour and a half around 5.30am or 5.45am before starting the morning medication round at 7am."
