Sussex coronation attendance would be ‘huge coup’ after ‘destructive campaign’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be gearing up for a "huge coup" if they are invited to the coronation of King Charles III, an expert has claimed.

Their "destructive campaign", a royal commentator has warned, could mean that the pair steal the spotlight on the big day later this May.

It comes as policy expert Nile Gardiner claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had been "unusually quiet" over the past few days as the pair fear they may be passed on for a coronation invite, Daily Express reported.

Expert Gardiner took to Twitter as he explained that the attendance of the Sussex duo would plant them at the "centre of attention".

He wrote that "Harry and Meghan have been unusually quiet in recent days", suggesting that they may "fear" not being "invited to the Coronation.".

Expert Gardiner added: "Attending the Coronation would be a huge coup for them after their destructive campaign and they would seek to be centre of attention at the event."

Whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will attend the event is yet to be seen, but it would appear King Charles is keen to have his youngest son present at the event.

Daily Star previously reported the King's initial plan was to have the Archbishop of Canterbury mediate between warring brothers Harry and Prince William.

But a separate expert has claimed such a plan is "rife with problems" and that the Duke of Sussex's presence at the event raised the question of "what, if any, part" Harry would play in the procession.

Prince Harry's appearance at the event would mark his first-ever royal engagement following the publication of his bombshell autobiography, Spare.

The Duke had previously teased "unforgiveable" content had been cut from his memoir before publication.

He added that the first draft had turned "800 pages", but featured a bulk of content that brother Prince William and father King Charles would "not forgive" if brought into the public eye.
