Tragedy as child dies suddenly at 'traveller site' after cops called to reports of girl in cardiac arrest | The Sun

POLICE have launched an investigation into the sudden death of a child after reports of a cardiac arrest.

Cops confirmed that a girl had died at an address in Trowbridge, Wiltshire on the afternoon of February 25.

Local news outlet the Wiltshire Times have reported that the scene of the tragedy is a traveller site.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "We were called to an address on Poplar Tree Lane, Southwick, Trowbridge at around 4pm on February 25 following reports of a girl in cardiac arrest.

"Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the girl passed away at the scene."

They also confirmed that a man in his 40s from the local area was assisting with their enquiries.

Detective Inspector Debbie Hatch added: "This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the girl’s family at this incredibly sad time.

"We are still in the very early stages of our investigation, and It would be inappropriate for me to comment further at this time."
