Adele says we’ve been saying pronouncing her name incorrectly

Adele, 34, has said she was delighted at the way one fan pronounced her name. She went on to reveal that people have been pronouncing her name incorrectly.

In a Q&A session called Happy Hour with Adele, to promote her new single I Drink Wine, the singer spoke about the etymology of her name.

She declared that a London-based fan had pronounced it correctly for the first time.

“I love that. She pronounced my name perfectly,” Adele enthused.

“Where’s she from, Enfield or something?”

The fan seemed to say Adele’s name in a north-London accent, saying “uh-dell” instead of “ah-dell”.

Adele is from Enfield and was raised in Tottenham, north London.

It comes after reports this week that Adele tickets in Las Vegas are being sold for over £40,000 online.

The tickets were originally on sale for between £70 and £600.

However, a few weeks before her Las Vegacy residency is set to begin, the Rolling in The Deep hitmaker revealed she will be taking a break from music in the future.

The musician hopes to study for a degree in English Literature during her hiatus.

Adele reignited fans’ passion for her album, 30, as she released her latest music video from the record, I Drink Wine.

Within hours, the video got over two million views on YouTube, proving the singer’s fanbase are always ready to receive new music from her.

Despite her international fame and fortune, the singer admitted she does have one big regret and hopes to correct it soon.

The Sun reported that Adele said: “After Vegas, I really want to get a degree in English Literature.

“If I hadn’t made it in my singing, I think I would definitely be a teacher. I think I’d be an English Lit teacher.

“I definitely feel like I use my passion for English Lit in what I do.

“But even though it’s not like I’d go on to get a job from my degree, I wish I had gone to university, I wish I’d had that experience.

“I won’t go to a university, I’ll do it online and with a tutor, but that’s my plan for 2025. It’s just to get the qualifications.”

Adele’s Las Vegas residency is set to start in November until March 2023.

It was originally supposed to run from January to April 2022, but was controversially postponed 24 hours before the concert was supposed to start.

Fans were left in the dark for months before rescheduled dates were announced in July.
