Britney Spears opened up on Twitter Thursday about the trauma she experienced in mistakenly thinking her niece Maddie had died in the wake of her February 2017 ATV accident in Kentwood, Louisiana.

‘The day Maddie, my niece was in that horrible accident with my mom was on the phone … she said Jamie Lynn said something happened … SILENCE … SILENCE … SILENCE !!!’ said the Grammy-winning singer, 40, who has 56 million followers on the platform. ‘She wouldn’t tell me … then she said it … she stopped breathing … we lost her!!!’

‘My mind was completely and absolutely gone … I lost my mind at that moment and I started throwing things!!!’ Spears said, noting that her brother Bryan chastised her in the moment.

Spears said, ‘The reason I bring this up is that the only thing my brother said was “Control yourself, I’m taking the children to the guest house you are not safe to be around them” … so he did!!! I stood there crying!!!’

The Oops!… I Did It Again vocalist continued: ‘Death is a mystery … We don’t understand it… My mind couldn’t process it,’ adding that in that moment, all she ‘wanted to say’ was to curse the name of God.

The Toxic artist said things thankfully turned around when ‘minutes later Maddie opened her eyes… She could see!!!

In the incident, Maddie was riding an ATV near a pond on the family’s Louisiana property when she tried to steer away from a drainage ditch.

According to a police report, she ‘overcorrected’ and ended up in the pond – still secured by her seatbelt and trapped to the ATV. Her parents tried to get her out, though she was ultimately freed by EMTs and brought to the hospital in stable but critical condition.

‘The biggest thought that I think stays with me, that like haunts me, is that when I was trying to save her — when I thought that I’d lost her — I was so afraid that her last thought was, “Why didn’t Mama save me?”‘ Jamie Lynn told GMA earlier this year.

She said she thought, ‘I just hope she knows that like I was doing everything I could if that was the last thing that she lived.’

While Maddie was in the ICU, Jamie Lynn had a priest come to pray for her and read the last rites.

Jamie Lynn said that trauma made her reexamine her life: ‘I think that when your worst fear happens, you get a lot less afraid of everything else. I think that it did it made me reevaluate everything and who I was as a person and where I needed to be better.’

Britney Spears also said Thursday that troubles with her family led to her experiencing a weakened mind-body connection.

‘I’m not sure how it was so easy for my family to take my breath away, take my inhaler away, and most importantly my HOLY FEET!!!’ she said. ‘Yes my feet are holy if you look at my Instagram you can see my legs are like a 5-year-olds … my upper body and head are not proportionate!!!

‘It’s because my head and my feet couldn’t be as one … it was all analyzing my head … my body is better now and I’m more proportionate my head and feet are coming together by movement!!!’

Spears said she has since removed all of the social media posts: ‘I’ve taken down all the posts with my body isn’t right and it’s so f***ed up!!! I just wake up and look around and say damn!!!’

Spears said she has also started thinking more about the forthcoming holiday season.

‘Christmas… feeling accepted … stupid silly smiles … the adorable pretend factor for Santa!!!’ she said. ‘Finally, reason to celebrate a make-believe world with children who have an experienced the cruelty of the world yet … I might be an idiot this year… buy a tree and put it up on top of my motherf***ing roof and create a satellite!!!’
