Carlee Russell Admits To Making Up Alabama Kidnapping Story – Could Face Charges!!
The Alabama woman who claimed she was kidnapped on the side of the interstate earlier this month has admitted to fabricating her story!
On Monday, a new bombshell dropped in the mysterious case of Carlee Russell. Just days after she returned home after allegedly being abducted while helping a toddler off I-459, the 25-year-old nursing student has released a statement to the Hoover Police Department. And she is now admitting to making it all up!!!
Police Chief Nick Derzis read the statement on behalf of Carlee’s attorney Emory Anthony, saying:
“My client has given me permission to make the following statement on her behalf. There was no kidnapping on Thursday July 13, 2023. My client did not see a baby on the side of the road. My client did not leave the Hoover area when she was identified as a missing person. My client did not have any help with this incident and this was a single act done by herself.”
He continued on, stating that the not-so-kidnapped woman “asks for your forgiveness”:
“My client was not with anyone or any hotel with anyone during the time she was missing. My client apologizes for her actions to this community, the volunteers that were searching for her, to Hoover Police Department and other agencies as well. We ask for your prayers for Carlee as she addresses her issues and attempts to move forward, understanding that she made a mistake, Carlee again asks for your forgiveness.”
Damn! The investigation is still ongoing, according to the HPD, and lots of questions still remain unanswered… But the chief says they’ll announce when and if charges are to be filed.
At this point, we’re sure the main question is just WHY? Not only has she been criticized for using police resources — she practically worried her family and her boyfriend, Thomar Simmons, to death! He previously insisted she fought “for her life” in those 49 hours where she was MIA, but then he scrubbed his social media of her and begged the public to stop harassing her. He said to the New York Post over the weekend:
“The only thing I can say is, I want everyone to stop bullying her. I know what it seems like what she did. Just stop bullying on social media. Think about her mental health. She doesn’t deserve that. She doesn’t. Nobody deserves to be cyberbullied.”
What it “seems like” she did is looking to be exactly what she did, considering her lawyer’s statement. Everyone was already getting a little suspicious after police spoke about her browser history. Of course, Thomar is right, harassment is never OK. Obviously it’s understandable if people are upset with her, but that doesn’t give anyone a right to bully. The situation is already a mess as it is.
