Clever ways X Factor star Rebecca Ferguson hid her pregnancy as she gives birth
The X Factor star Rebecca Ferguson has shocked fans by announcing the birth of her fourth child without anyone suspecting a thing.
The 36 year old singer revealed the news about her new arrival on Friday night [February 17]. It's her first child with her husband Jonny Hughes.
In their announcement, Rebecca chose not to reveal the name or gender of her baby. Sharing a black and white snap of her child's arm, she wrote: "Surprise! Turns out I can keep a secret. Born on Valentine's Day."
Startled fans flocked the comments to congratulate the couple. One follower commented: "Wow lovely little secret, congrats honey."
A second said: "Ahhhhhhh!!!! That is a secret! Congratulations," before another added: "Congratulations to you both. That was a surprise!"
"Awwww huge congratulations to you both, your little Valentine! xxxxxxx," one person wrote. Another posted: "The most wonderful news – so delighted for you both."
"The best news – a bundle of joy – super congrats," gushed one overjoyed fan.
In order to continue posting content on her Instagram without arousing suspicion from her followers Rebecca deployed some clever camera trickery – and it obviously worked.
In one of her most recent posts, taken on her wedding day, she can be seen holding a bouquet in front of her stomach. In a second post, taken on the same day, she can be seen doing the same again.
A photo taken from the set of Portrait Artist of the Year in November shows her wearing a glamourous green gown. However, because she was sat down with her hands across her tummy her pregnancy went undetected.
Rebecca is normally very private about her family life and children, and rarely shares photos or details of them on social media.
The singer, who recently married her husband Jonny in a gorgeous embellished white wedding dress, shares her eldest children Lillie-May and Karl Junior with her ex Karl Dures.
She also has a daughter named Arabella.
Rebecca and Jonny got married just 11 months after the sports agent got down on one knee and proposed.
The happy couple announced the news on Instagram with a beautiful snap of their big day with Rebecca describing it as her "happily ever after".
In a social media post to Jonny back in 2021, she praised how he changed her view on men.
She wrote: "I was too scared to ever date again, then you found me and held my hand through every step of trust, Loved me and my children like they were your own and helped me to grow as a person .. forever grateful I [heart] you xxx"
