I'm A Celeb stars will take on goriest ever Squid Games themed trial

EXCLUSIVE: I’m A Celeb stars will take on goriest trial EVER in Squid Game themed challenge that will see camp-mates wear the iconic green tracksuits

  • The tracksuits will be akin to the leisurewear worn by Squid Game contestants
  • I’m A Celeb’s costume department have made the tracksuits specifically for the challenge, which will see celebrities be pushed to their limit
  • An insider said: ‘The Squid Game style is the trial bosses are excited about’
  • Squid Game is Netflix’s biggest ever show, with subscribers watching 1.65billion hours of content within its first 28 days of release

I’m A Celeb stars will compete in the show’s goriest ever Bushtucker Trial, inspired by gruesome Netflix hit Squid Game.

MailOnline can reveal campmates will don matching green tracksuits, akin to the striking leisurewear worn by Korean contestants partaking in deadly children’s games, which shocked global audiences when the series was released last year.

The ITV show’s costume department have made the tracksuits specifically for the challenge, but they won’t be an exact replica due to image rights issues, meaning the I’m A Celeb version will be more of a parody.

A show insider said: ‘The Squid Game style is the trial show bosses are most excited about.

‘Being back in Australia means challenges can be on a far bigger scale and they’ve really pushed the boat out for this one.

‘Viewers will no doubt know all about Squid Game and its bloodthirsty content, therefore pushing the celebrities into that world will make for exciting telly.’

Squid Game is Netflix’s biggest ever show, with subscribers watching 1.65billion hours of content within its first 28 days of release.

Game on! MailOnline can reveal campmates will don matching green tracksuits, akin to the striking leisurewear worn by Korean Squid Game contestants (pictured)

The series centres on 456 players, all of whom are experiencing financial hardship, asked to compete in a series of children’s games in a bid to win a huge cash prize.

However, competitors soon realise losing a game will result in their death and every fatal casualty results in the prize pot increasing for the eventual winner.

The players are kept under watch by masked guards in pink jumpsuits, while games are overseen by the Front Man, who wear a black mask and black uniform.

It’s thought the guards and Front Men will also be depicted in the Bushtucker Trial version.

The new I’m A Celeb series, which starts on Sunday, will feature a record 24 trials, with disgraced MP Matt Hancock tipped to feature in the opening challenges given the outage he’s caused by signing up for the show.

The classic eating trials and aerial challenges will once again feature, likewise the Celebrity Cyclone, which takes place at the conclusion of the series featuring the four finalists.

All the contestants featuring in this year’s series have now arrived in Australia and have to quarantine for seven days before entering the jungle.

Hancock and comedian Seann Walsh will join the rest of the campmates at a later stage.

The pair have been pitted together as they have both been branded ‘love-rats’ following high profile affairs.

Walsh was caught kissing his Strictly dance partner Katya Jones behind his girlfriend Rebecca Humphries back in October 2018, while Hancock was forced to quit as health secretary in June 2021 after he was pictured breaking his own lockdown rules and kissing his married aide, Gina Coladangelo.
