Ioan Gruffudd has detailed the shocking food fight with his teenage daughter after she admitted to vandalising his apartment upon meeting his girlfriend Bianca Wallace for the first time. 

Ella – whose mother is Gruffudd’s ex-wife Alice Evans – last month discussed the incident while filing for a restraining order against Gruffudd and Wallace in Los Angeles.

The 13-year-old said in her submission that she was ‘so upset’ with her father that she ‘threw milk on his bed, poured mustard on the floor, and threw raw oatmeal on him’. 

Gruffudd, 49, submitted his version of events in new court documents seen by MailOnline, stating that the behaviour ‘made it clear Ella is in urgent need of mental health care.’ 

He added that prior to the meeting he had hired Dr. Gery LeGagnoux, a psychologist who is a child therapist and parenting coach, to assist with the children and their first meeting with Wallace.

During their first meeting, Gruffudd claimed that Wallace ‘politely greeted’ Ella and nine-year-old Elsie, ‘encouraging’ them to ask any questions they had and to play with the couple’s dog, Bubba Bear.  

Gruffudd claims that his daughters were ‘dismissive’ towards Wallace, stating that ‘Ella took out her phone and FaceTimed her friends, and then proceeded to do  a video tour of the apartment. She walked around giving a negative description of the place to her friends. 

‘She vacillated between being loud and obnoxious, jumping up and down, and laughing to herself and her friends. Her behavior was unhinged, and nothing I had seen before.

‘Ella entered my and Bianca’s bedroom. I followed her and asked that she end the call and sit down and discuss things. She repeated that she did not want to be there. 

‘Ella became increasingly loud. She went to the refrigerator and proceeded to pour milk all over our bed. I was not angry, I was shocked and I did not know what to do and looked to Dr. LeGagnoux for help. 

‘Ella went to the kitchen and wrote “f**k” with a mustard bottle and squirted it over the counter tops and floors. She was still on the phone. Again, I did not react but tried to smooth it over and tell her and her friends on FaceTime that it wasn’t cool and that it wasn’t nice. 

‘It was becoming clear to me that Ella is in urgent need of mental health care.’

Gruffudd alleged that Ella next pushed Wallace while branding her a ‘f***ing s**t’ before pouring rolled oats from a bag over his head.  

He claimed: ‘I was in shock and did not respond.’

In Ella’s submission of the afternoon’s events, she claimed Gruffudd and Wallace ‘called her ‘manipulative’, ‘abusive’ and ‘narcissistic” – words which the actor denies using, in his submission.

After the row, Ella ‘decided she couldn’t be in that apartment anymore’ and attempted to leave – when she said Wallace ‘tried to block her’ by ‘raising her arms’.

‘I was able to make my way around her, and I opened the door,’ Ella’s evidence continued. 

‘I was able to walk halfway out the door, but while I was still in the door frame, the respondent slammed the door on me, causing the door to hit me on the head as well as my arm. My arm got bruised, and I had small bump on my head.’

The evidence from both Ella and Gruffudd agrees that Ella then tried to run out of the apartment while her father chased after her.

Gruffudd said in his submission that he followed the girls, but Ella yelled at him that she was going to call the police – and the girls then ran out through the garage door.

He continued: ‘I caught up with them for a while and asked them to return. They were laughing and seemed to enjoy the drama. They kept running away and I tried to keep an eye on them as I called Bianca to ask Dr LeGagnoux for help.’

Eventually, Gruffudd said he caught up with them as they were getting into the car of the father of one of Elsie’s friends, a man called Dennis Hauk.

Gruffudd said: ‘I spoke with Dennis and we agreed he would take the girls to Alice’s house and Bianca and I would follow behind to make sure they arrived safely.’

The revelations from both parties have come in documents filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court after Ella applied for a temporary restraining order against Gruffudd and Wallace.

Ella has also applied for civil harassment protection from Wallace – whom Gruffudd has been dating since 2021. The application will be heard in court this Friday.

The restraining order request was filed following the incident at Gruffudd and Wallace’s home while Ella and her nine-year-old sister Elsie were visiting.

It marks the latest development in the astonishing domestic drama that began when Gruffudd left his then-wife Evans in 2021 following a 14-year marriage.
