James Martin has left fans in tears after telling his 'TV dad' Brian Turner that he loves him following the chef's health update.

The 76 year old appeared on ITV's James Martin's Saturday Morning, where he spoke about a stroke he suffered in June 2022.

James, who recently shared peak inside his stunning country home, kicked off the show as he said: "First of all you want to say thank you to the camera, because you've not been well recently."

He then pointed towards the camera so Brian could turn his attention to it. The Ready Steady Cook chef then shared: "Yeah, well unfortunately I had a stroke in June last year and the people at the London hospital were fantastic and helpful."

"So excuse me if I make a stammer occasionally, but we will catch up at the end," he continued, as James, 55, replied: "It's OK, it's OK. I love you fella," before referring to him as his 'TV dad'.

He added: "Round of applause for the people who have been looking after you and it's a pleasure to have you back!"

Fans were left in tears over the exchange as they flocked to Twitter to share their well wishes. One person wrote: "Wishing you a speedy recovery Brian. While a fourth added: "So so lovely to see Brian back with his TV son. Those man hugs made me tear up! All the best to you Chef Turner."

James later took to his own social media account to share an update from Brian as he posted a photo of them in the kitchen from their show together before writing: "Wow, well what can we both say just had Brian on the phone, ended in both us in tears at the amazing messages and support from you all…
