Jamie Foxx’s daughter issues update on his heath and says star is out of hospital

Jamie Foxx’s family have given an optimistic update on the actor’s condition following his recent hospital dash with a mystery illness.

Jamie, 55, sparked concerns last month after experiencing a “medical complication” that saw him rushed to hospital.

A month on from the ordeal, it was reported that the star was still recovering in hospital – but his daughter Corrine, 29, has reassured fans that he’s now home.

Issuing a statement on behalf of the Foxx family, Corrine penned on her Instagram story: “update from the family: My Dad has been out of hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support!”

Addressing the allegations that Jamie’s family were “preparing for the worst”, Corrine said: “Sad to see how the media runs wild”.

Elsewhere, she even teased her father’s return to work.

She concluded her post: “We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!”

Little is known about the cause of Jamie's hospital stay in April, but TMZ reported that the situation was "serious enough" that his close family rushed to his bedside.

A source told the publication: "He's communicating now, and that's good news."

Jamie himself later broke his silence as he thanked everyone for their well wishes.

The Oscar-winning actor, known for films including Django Unchained, Collateral and Ray, penned to Instagram: “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed”.

Jamie also publicly thanked Kelly Osbourne and Nick Cannon for covering for him and his daughter on Beat Shazam.

The Hollywood actor said: “Thank you so much @nickcannon and @kellyosbourne for filling in this season! We are so pumped for season six!"

His celebrity pals were quick to send their thoughts to Jamie during his period of poor health, with Ellen DeGeneres leading the comments.

She wrote: “I’m sending love to you every single day”, while Backstreet Boys star AJ Mclean wrote: "Hey bro. Aj from Backstreet Boys my man your in my prayers day and night bro. Lets get you better and home."

“Sending you strength and love,” added Jeremy Renner, who came close to death at the beginning of the year after a horror snow ploughing accident.

Jamie’s hospitalisation came shortly after the actor was said to have had a “meltdown” on the set of his new movie with Cameron Diaz.

A source told The Sun at the time: “There have been some issues on set and Jamie has had a major meltdown over it all.

“He demanded the problems be sorted immediately and sacked four of the production staff — as if that would magically improve the situation.”

The Hollywood film is the first movie Cameron has starred in since Annie in 2014 – which she starred in alongside Jamie.
