Wakanda Forever

Next month, the sequel to Black Panther is released in cinemas and I absolutely cannot wait!

I was such a huge fan of the first movie, but it’s going to be heartbreaking that the lead actor Chadwick Boseman will be missing from the upcoming film after he passed away in 2020.

I have no doubt that actress Letitia Wright will do an incredible job as his on-screen sister Shuri, the replacement lead.

It’s incredible to see how much people are anticipating the sequel of this well-loved Black-led blockbuster – which is all about positivity and power – and I will be waiting eagerly to grab some tickets.

Congrats, Solange!

It was announced last week that Solange Knowles – Beyonce’s younger sister – has made history after becoming the first ever Black woman to compose music for the prestigious New York City Ballet.

I’ve been a fan of Solange’s music forever and I’ve witnessed her style move and change with the times, so to see her original score being celebrated in such an honourable and esteemed way is iconic.

She’s an inspiration to young Black girls all over the world and proof that hard work and raw talent can change the course of history.

Eternally grateful

Last week I was granted the honour of hosting the RCN Nursing Awards, and what an incredible evening it was.

We celebrated the amazing commitment that nurses and fellow NHS staff have shown over these past few turbulent years and showcased the very best talent and hard work in the industry.

There have been numerous times during my life when my family has needed medical intervention and nursing staff have shown their exemplary standards of work and duty of care every single time.

I’m in awe of everything these compassionate superhumans do, so it was a privilege to celebrate alongside them last week.

Countryside retreat

Amid my crazily busy schedule, I took a few days last week to visit the breathtaking sights that the Lake District has to offer.

I’d never been to Cumbria before, but taking in the rolling green hills, crystal clear lakes, blue skies and fresh air made me feel relaxed and at home. It was such a lovely change to the business of London life.

I can’t reveal exactly why I went yet – let’s just say there’s a forthcoming TV series that will see me getting up to mayhem in the middle of Windermere!

Girls just wanna have fun!

Sometimes, there’s nothing you need more than a good old night out with your girls!

Last week I gathered some of my good friends, Samantha, Sabrina, Nana and Adama – who have worked alongside me as my team of stylists for years – and we enjoyed some delicious food, a cocktail (or two!) at London’s boujee hotspot Amazónico, and just catching up with one another.

It was amazing to celebrate each other’s talents and achievements.

My friends truly are a sisterhood and I’m so lucky to have them by my side.
