Kate Middleton warned: ‘Keep George away from Uncle Harry’

Kate Middleton has been warned to keep Prince George 'away' from his uncle Harry, who is said to be a 'negative influence' on the young heir as he is second in line to the throne.

Royal expert Angela Levin exclusively told OK! this week that the best thing for George is to steer clear of Harry, who lifted the lid on his negative experience growing up in the royal family in his memoir, Spare.

With George the first-born child of the Prince and Princess of Wales, Harry has previously spoken of his “worries” over Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis becoming the “spares” to their big brother.

“Out of those three children, at least one will end up like me, the spare,” he said. “And that hurts me, that worries me.”

These comments are likely to have caused concern for his brother William, who is first in line following the coronation of his father Charles, as expert Angela advises both he and Kate to not take note of the comments.

Angela says that Kate is well aware of the challenges that lie ahead for George as he grows up in the public eye and she has done everything to ensure he’s equipped with the emotional tools to face those pressures.

“George doesn’t have a dysfunctional family, unlike William and Harry growing up, so he should fare better,” she said. “Kate and William are there to help him. But he needs to be kept away from Harry’s negative influence.”

Royal author Tom Bower echoed Angela's thoughts while sharing that George will be none the wiser of the true situation between his parents and uncle.

He said: “Kate was the peacemaker between the brothers at the late Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral [in 2021], but after the release of Harry’s book and the Sussexes’ documentary, that’s all over. I really don’t think Kate wants to see Harry again.

"Of course Prince George will be oblivious to all this – Harry will simply be forever marginalised in his memory.”

It has been said previously that a picture of Prince George served as a 'wake up call' for Harry and his wife Meghan, pushing them to exit the royal family. The photograph showed the late Elizabeth II with the now-King Charles, Prince William and his son, who was six at the time, in the throne room at Buckingham Palace.

According to author Andrew Morton, the picture – which saw the future monarchy lined up – proved that the family's future was set in stone whether they were with the family or not.

"The royal couple suspected that the entire institution was conspiring against them," wrote Andrew in his book, A Royal Princess.

Adding: "As they saw it, the evidence was all around them. The unspoken code was straightforward: the future of the monarchy was assured, with or without Meghan and Harry."
