MIC’s Yas insists new boyfriend ‘will spice up the series’ and takes swipe at Miles

After being in such a tangled web of love last year, Made In Chelsea star Yasmine Zweegers is relieved to have what she describes as her "own romantic storyline" on the new series of the hit E4 reality show.

Last year saw the 23-year-old model and influencer introduced to the show as a potential love interest for Miles Nazaire, 27, but the couple soon called it quits after Miles’s head was turned by fellow newbie, Issy Francis-Baum, 21.

The plot thickened further when, during a cast trip to Bali just weeks later, Yas was rejected again when new beau Harvey Armstrong confessed he’d also kissed Issy.

So, having fallen in love with new man – and SW3 newbie – Guy Conelly while filming the previous series in Bali, Yas is over the moon that he only has eyes for her.

"It was interesting to see him meet the other stars," she says, reflecting on last week's season premiere. "He’ll definitely spice up the new series as it continues."

Yas says that prior to meeting Guy – who bought a one-way ticket to London to join her filming for this series – a romantic connection was the last thing on her mind.

The Londoner – who dated her ex, Ed Hayes, for two years before joining the show – admits: "I wanted to be single. I’d planned to live my best single life in Bali and just have fun. I was going on dates, but I had the mindset of, ‘If I meet someone, I meet someone.’

"I didn’t think I’d find someone that would be exclusive to me at this point."

But she didn't complain when romance came knocking on her door, claiming that during her Bali vacation, she was "living my own Eat, Pray, Love movie".

"We actually had our first date playing mini golf – a completely sober first date – but it was so much fun," she says. "We laughed so much. It was different to your typical London dating scene where you go for a drink in the freezing cold rain."

And Yas, who has Dutch and Syrian heritage, reckons Guy is a world away from the Chelsea boys who have left her tearily reaching for her tissues in the past. "First of all, he’s from Kent," she says.

"He’s different from someone I’d usually go for – although I wouldn’t say I have a particular type. He’s just funny and he’s a really good person."

And with Guy now on the scene, Yas is keen to quash any rumour that she and Miles share a spark.

"We are really close friends now,” she says. “Miles had my back during a lot of the tension of the last series."

After much speculation and a blazing row with Willow Day and Paris Smith during the first episode, could Yas finally be prepared to address the rumours that she and Miles continued secretly dating in London prior to Harvey and Issy’s lip-locking scandal and meeting Guy?

Despite insisting during a catch-up with Lily that they were "single people" and that nothing more went down between them – and following Miles’s admission that the pair went out for a "couple of dinners" – Yas smiles.

"I may or may not reveal whether it was just the ice game that saw Miles and me kissing," she says, referring to her claim they’d only puckered up during a drinking game at Chelsea nightclub Raffles and that nothing more went down between them.

Yas also has her say on on-screen pal Ruby Adler's beachside kiss with former beau Miles, which is said to have occurred amid speculation that she and him had continued their romance.

But she claims that’s water under the bridge.

"It was a shock for every member of the cast because they are such good friends," she says of Miles’s dalliance with Ruby. "Things were so platonic between the two of them, so it was a complete shock."
