New Pokémon Series Coming in 2023, Without Ash Ketchum

A brand new Pokémon series is in the works and coming out in the new year!

It was just announced on Friday (December 16) that a new star is rising, with a new journey of characters, following the end of Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series.

The official Pokémon Twitter account shared the big news, teasing what’s to come now that Ash Ketchum has become the ultimate trainer and world champion.

“Join 2 new characters and 3 Paldea starter Pokémon as they adventure through the Pokémon world!” the account shared. “Coming soon in 2023 and beyond!”

According to Variety, the new series will follow “Liko and Roy, and also feature the Paldea region’s starter Pokémon Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly from the recent video games Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.”

The latest series, Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series, which has been airing on Netflix in the US, will air 11 special episodes celebrating Ash’s long journey to the top.
