Piers Morgan takes nasty swipe at Victoria Beckham after Spice Girls performance

Piers Morgan has taken a swipe at former girl band star Victoria Beckham over Twitter reposting a TikTok of her karaoke rendition of classic Spice Girls number, Say You’ll Be There.

The 49-year-old Victoria, or Posh Spice to her fans, took to the mic out in the states to celebrate the Inter Miami football team her husband, David Beckham, 48, owns after their winning match on Sunday.

Also attending the football game and celebrating Lionel Messi’s goal were the likes of Kim Kardashian, Serena Williams and LeBron James.

While everyone in the room was up on their feet and thrilled to see Victoria performing at a post-match party, Piers wasn’t too keen on her singing skills and took to Twitter to voice his opinion.

Piers posted this to his 8.5 million followers: "This may explain why Victoria Beckham isn’t taking part in any Spice Girls reunions…" along with the clip of loved-up Victoria singing and dancing with David.

However, her performance had people on the internet coming to her defence after Pier’s scathing comments.

One person said: “I think she did awesome…whats your problem piers still salty about the cricket?”

Another defended Victoria, quizzing: "Why do you have to be so hateful as you’ve got older Piers? You're just turning really unpleasant, not funny, just quite nasty."

A third added: “In fairness she probably hasn’t sang or held a mic in 28 years…”

In Piers’ post, it also sounds like he could be hinting at Victoria not taking part in the highly anticipated Spice Girls reunion that the group have teased to happen in 2024.

But along with the video posted on TikTok, Victoria said she was "Warming up the vocals in Miami! More to come.”

Victoria is rumoured to be joining her bandmates, Emma Bunton, Geri Horner, Mel Brown and Mel Chisholm next year in honour of their 30th anniversary.

The 90s pop stars are reportedly considering a headlining slot at Glastonbury's Pyramid stage. Whether or not Victoria joins the rest of the group, she is expected to appear in a forthcoming Spice Girls documentary by Star Wars director J.J. Abrams.

There’s also going to be more insight into the life of the Beckhams in a new Netflix series set to air later this year.
