Rachel Stevens 'faces driving ban after being caught speeding twice'

S Club 7’s Rachel Stevens ‘faces driving ban after being caught speeding twice’ just eight weeks apart

S Club 7’s Rachel Stevens could be banned from driving after being caught speeding twice just eight weeks apart.

The Sun reported that the singer, 45, was first caught by a cop with a speed gun in Regent’s Park, central London, doing 41mph in her BMW X3 on September 9 last year.

Then on November 7, she was caught for a second time by another speed gun doing 42mph, this time in her Mini Cooper S.

Rachel pleaded guilty to both offences in writing and is not expected to attend court.

MailOnline has contacted Rachel’s representatives for comment.

Policy and research director Neil Greig told The Sun: ‘We’d like to see a fundamental shift in attitudes towards speeding so that it becomes as socially unacceptable as drink and drug driving.

‘With over 4,400 casualties on UK roads each year due to speeding, averaging 12 people a day being killed or injured, we clearly need to do more to educate drivers on the fatal consequences of speeding.

‘Everyone in the public eye needs to play their part in this.’

It comes after Rachel and her ex-husband Alex Bourne earned a tidy £300,000 profit just weeks before she announced she was reuniting with S Club 7 .

In February the couple, who split in July, sold their five-bedroom family home in north London for £1.625 million.

The couple, who have two children, had only moved to the home three years earlier, paying £1.34 million for the property which has an en suite, master bedroom, large lawned garden and three reception rooms.

The sale came just as S Club 7 announced that same month that they would be reuniting for a 25th Anniversary tour in October.

Rachel announced her split from childhood sweetheart Alex in July after 12 years of marriage.

Sharing the sad news on Instagram Stories, she wrote: ‘I just wanted to share with you all that after time and consideration the difficult decision has been made for Alex and I to separate.

‘While we are no longer partners in marriage, we will remain partners in parenthood to our beautiful girls and continue with love and respect for each other.

‘I feel so incredibly grateful for the life we built together and will now continue to be focused on moving forward united as a family.’

Rachel and Alex share two children, Amelie, 12, and Minnie, nine.

Last month, it emerged that Rachel is dating her Dancing On Ice partner Brendyn Hatfield, following her split from Alex last year.

Meanwhile, Brendyn is also separated from his wife, fellow professional skater Jessica.

A source told The Sun on Sunday : ‘Rachel had a really great friendship and partnership with Brendyn and it keeps developing.

‘They’re really smitten and looking forward to the future. She wasn’t expecting to find love again at this stage in her life but she’s feeling postive about what’s to come and hopeful about a new start.

Heart FM host Rachel and Brendyn first met when they started training for Dancing On Ice in November 2021.

They struck up a friendship but became the third couple to be voted out of the competition in January last year.

Rachel has been through a difficult time of late, having lost her friend and S Club bandmate Paul Cattermole, who died suddenly at the age of 46 at his home in Dorset earlier this month.

Rachel paid a heartfelt tribute to Paul Cattermole, who she and the rest of the band was due to embark on a celebratory 25th anniversary UK tour with in October this year.

While the tour will still go ahead, the band have been in shock by his untimely passing and Rachel issued a personal statement on her Instagram page last week.

She thanked fans for their ‘outpouring’ of support and said she hoped her late friend ‘knew how loved he was’.

Alongside a black and white photo of Paul from the bands heyday she wrote: ‘Thank you so much for all your beautiful messages of love and support.

‘The outpouring of love for our Paul has been so incredibly special and has meant so much,I hope he knew how loved he was.

She continued: ‘Such a kind, gentle and sensitive soul with the most incredible energy and such a wild free spirit. He would light up any room.

‘We are heartbroken but so grateful for the memories we all shared, an absolute shining star who we will love and miss always. RIP darling Paul.’

Paul was found at his Dorset home on the morning of Thursday 6 April and was pronounced dead in the afternoon, his family said the following day.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
