The 1975 To Replace Lewis Capaldi As Reading & Leeds 2023 Headliner

The 1975 will replace Lewis Capaldi, who took a break from touring, at the Reading & Leeds festival.

Capaldi, who was scheduled to headline in Reading on August 26 and in Leeds the next day, announced after he performed at Glastonbury Festival that he is withdrawing to focus on improving his mental and physical health.

Capaldi, who is suffering from Tourette’s syndrome, reportedly struggled to sing his No 1 hit “Someone You Loved” at Glastonbury.

Capaldi’s replacement was revealed by The 1975 frontman Matty Healy while performing at TRNSMT festival last weekend.

“So, on Saturday at Reading and Sunday at Leeds in celebration of 10 years of our debut album, The 1975 will be playing that album in full in support of our good friend Lewis Capaldi. If you’ve got tickets, good for you. If you haven’t, go and get them. We’ll see you there,” Healy said.

Reading & Leeds Fest shared an updated poster on Twitter adding The 1975 and Knucks to the 2023 line-up.
