Vanessa Feltzs fear as she talks dating after heartbreaking split from ex

This Morning: Vanessa Feltz quips about her love life

Vanessa Feltz admitted she is feeling “apprehensive” about dating again as the on-screen star said she has attempted to embrace the fear.

The 61-year-old spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk at the TRIC Awards held on June 27 at Grosvenor House in London ahead of her show debut.

Vanessa said: “I’m extremely apprehensive but you’ve got to feel the fear and do it anyway!

“Someone should write a book called that… oh my God someone has written a book called that. Shame it wasn’t me, is the thing!”

The TV star recently geared herself up for her very first date in 17 years as she turned to dating experts to help assist with her love life.

She recently took to Instagram, ahead of her first date, Vanessa said: “OMG going off on my first date for Celebs Go Dating.

“I haven’t been on a date for 17 years, so just imagine how I’m feeling. I can’t even find the words to describe it, and I’m good at words.”

Show bosses were reportedly keen to secure Vanessa for this series after she became single following the shock split from Ben Ofoedu in February.

The former made headlines after his now ex-fiancée Vanessa revealed she had split from him – her partner of 17 years – amid claims he’d been unfaithful and exchanged “sex texts” with another woman, which he later confirmed.

The performer stated his latest gig has been his saving grace after going through a “tough” time in recent months.

Ben exclusively told Express.co.uk: “It was incredibly tough. I’m not used to being demonised and I felt really demonised, and even when I [told the truth] – there is a Latin word for telling the truth – I still felt targeted.

He continued: “It was an incredibly challenging time but thank god I had Tony and Tina’s wedding. A play that I didn’t think I was going to get.

“I just rocked up one morning, thinking what’s the worst that could happen? And it changed my life.”
