Looking for some low-effort deep penetration? Try The Butterfly sex position
Looking for a little inspiration for the boudoir?
Want to try a sex position that looks more intimidating than it actually is, but still makes for some deep penetration?
Then you might want to give The Butterfly a go.
As this popular sex position proves, sometimes it really is all in the hips…
What is The Butterfly sex position?
The Butterfly is pretty simple. You’ve probably done it already without even realising it – ‘a rose by any other name’, and all that.
To do The Butterfly, the person being penetrated needs to be laying on their back.
The penetrator will then pull their partner’s torso to meet theirs, with their partner’s legs lifted so that their ankles or calves are resting on the penetrators shoulders.
The idea behind calling it ‘The Butterfly’ is that the legs arguably look a bit like the upper parts of a butterfly’s wings.
The key aspect of this position is where the penetratee’s legs are, but the penetrator can be positioned one of two ways.
One way is similar to missionary, in that they’re kneeling on the bed and, depending on their partner’s hip flexibility, they can support themselves with their arms on either side of the penetratee.
Alternatively, the person laying down can position themselves with their bum resting on the edge of the bed, and the penetrator can enter them while standing, thus giving them slightly freer range of movement.
What are the benefits?
First of all, The Butterfly can help you achieve some deep penetration.
It also (especially if the penetrator is standing) offers easy access to a penetratee’s clitoris for a bit of extra fun.
Another added benefit is that you don’t have to be a contortionist to make it work, and the only real effort is subjective – it just comes down to how hard and fast the person on top wants to thrust…
