Love Island contestants who quit fame after the show from PE teacher to Lidl job

For 20-somethings a chance to appear on Love Island likely feels like the opportunity of a lifetime to kickstart your social media influencing career, launch a fashion line or attend the glitziest of events.

As it turns out though, fame isn't always what it's cracked up to be and for some contestants, life really does goes back to normal.

Mostly the ones who are dumped from the island early on, are sadly forgotten – can you remember who went first in this summer's series? It was Bedford-boy George Fensom by the way, but still.

Mostly those who are dumped midway through are remembered and go on to have relative success. Some, however make the final and still disappear from the spotlight – we're looking at you first series islander Lauren Richardson.

OK! takes a peek at some of the islanders from over the years who have vanished quicker than you can say 'you've been pied!'

Afia Tonkmor

It looks like this lovely lady has quit fame altogether. She was a part of the popular season that saw Ekin-Su appear but ever since leaving, we haven't heard a peep from Afia.

She attended the live final watch party, did a few leaving interviews and since then she has been silent heading off instead to travel, showcasing her Thailand fun on social media in September last year, and New York more recently. Calling herself a 'kale enthusiast' and into 'health, travel, and being vegan' the star does boast nearly 50k followers.

Lauren Richardson

Having to be very careful with what she posts online these days due to spying pupils, our series one girl, Lauren, has shunned the bright lights of fame to become a very sensible PE teacher.

As well as this, she's also an ambassador for health brand, Herbalife and has an impressive 79.5k followers on the 'gram. She calls her page a 'health and wellness website' and only posts with fitness and health related content, but does have Danielle Armstrong and Lucy Fallon as celebrity followers.

Paige Thorne

Runner-up from 2022, Welsh-born Paige had a well-documented love triangle with Jacques O'Neill and serial lothario Adam Collard, but she's back to what she loves best – being a paramedic.

The 25-year-old shared her excitement at getting back to the job she did before Love Island and even showed fans clips with her ambulance colleagues and what's inside her medical bag. She still boasts 1.4 million fans who clearly admire her drive and ambition.

Georgia Townend

Blonde beauty from series 7 is back to what she loves best – working in Lidl. The star, who still regularly posts content on her Instagram for her 130k fans, returned to the store in their marketing department to make the most of her food and nutrition degree. She has avoided the influencing route online and enjoys making hilarious posts on Twitter instead.

Liam Llwewllyn

Lovely Lia m had fans in tears when he left the show early in 2022, claiming that he was uncomfortable playing someone he's really not when it comes to love and flirting.

Since leaving the villa though, fans have been left wondering where the smiley lad has gone. He's quiet on social media regardless of gaining an impressive 304k followers, but would much rather hang with his mates and live a normal life. He does seem to work with ASOS Man though, and has been out enjoying a cruise on behalf of Virgin Holidays.

Maxwell Samuda

A winter Love Island star, fan will remember Maxwell for coupling up with Olivia Hawkins in Casa Amor but since being on the show he has headed off to university to study for a new career in finance. Whilst he has 80.2k followers on Instagram and counts make-up artist Mikey Dash as one of his followers, he has stayed clear of mainstream celeb life.
