Woman fumes as shes dress-coded over inappropriate outfit grabbing coffee

A woman has issued a warning to her followers after she was dress-coded for wearing a tracksuit when she went out to grab a coffee.

Cori Scherer, who posts online as @coriascherer, was visiting a coffee spot not far from her home in Houston, Texas, wearing a £150 co-ord hoodie and trackie bottoms.

The mortgage lender explained how she had gone to one of the nice hotels in her local area to admire the Christmas decorations and enjoy her hot drink.

But Cori's festive joy was ruined when a member of staff approached her to tell her that her outfit was inappropriate.

She clapped back at the staff member in a TikTok video, saying: "When you try to grab a coffee at one of Houston's nice hotels and they tell you there's a dress code.

"Ma'am, this is an Aritzia sweatsuit, please."

Adding in the comments on the clip, which now has over 207,000 likes: "'Lady we’re just trying to grab a latte and politely sit at the bar."

However, people took to the comments to defend the hotel's decision as they agree that a tracksuit wouldn't be suitable for a fancy hotel.

One user stated: "'Sweatpants r sweatpants don’t matter the brand lol."

Another added: "They want you to wear heels at the coffee place or something.''

A third wrote: "It’s still a sweatsuit. Price point doesn’t matter, but that’s just my take."

However, other users claimed she should be allowed to wear whatever she likes as she only wanted a coffee.

One user said: "They just get it."

Another added: "Sweatsuits def cost more & better material than they work clothes."

A third commented: "Lol wtf! You look cute though."

A staff member at a similar venue said they would hate enforcing the dress code at work.

She said: "I used to work at one of those places and honestly it’s so difficult telling people they can’t come in because of their outfit because you already know you’re either going to get chewed out by management or told by the guest their whole outfit costs more than your life and they’re probably right."
