1000lb Best Friends star slammed by doc over claims he ‘put her in a dark place’

1000-Lb Best Friends star Meghan Crumpler completely broke down on air after she spoke to Dr. Procter, who called her out over her actions.

A clip from the new series showed Meghan returning to Dr. Procter’s office for a chat about her progress, but she complained that her last visit had been less than pleasant.

The medical professional noted that she “didn’t seem very happy” and Meghan proceeded to explain how, during her last visit, she was unhappy with what he said and started to cry.

Through tears Meghan said: “When I hear certain things, it kind of triggers me. Our last visit, I kind of went in a dark place. I heard that I was a failure. That’s what I heard. And it has stayed with me since.”

After trying to reassess the situation, Procter called for a “time out” as Meghan began to cry and pointed out that she hadn’t had “a single follow up appointment”.

Meghan was stunned as she defended herself and tried to hold back the tears as she sat in the office.

In the caption, TLC wrote: “Meghan completely breaks down in Dr. Procter’s office [sad emoji]. Don’t miss a new episode of 1000-Lb Best Friends tonight at 10/9c to see what happens next.”

Fans rushed to comment on the situation and share their thoughts on Meghan’s reaction.

One wrote: “Although I agree with ya’ll that Meghan needs to take accountability, I do think Dr. Procter [could’ve] been more empathetic! Meghan is clearly a very emotional and vulnerable person (we are not all built the same way).

“Sometimes, oftentimes, people need to hear some positivity and sympathy in order to get back on the right track! It’s called positive reinforcement. His words hurt [her] and no-one gets to say otherwise.”

However, another viewer sided with Procter and claimed that it “wasn’t his fault for how she feels about her body and progress.”

They reminded fans that he “did his job as her doctor” but she failed to “follow through with any aftercare or follow ups,” but “got triggered when he told her how it is”.

Following this, they also said that “he is only a doctor” and “couldn’t lose the weight for her”.

Others followed suit and one fan said that they thought “Meghan was the problem” as she “doesn’t want to do the work”.
