A Place in the Sun viewers horrified by plunge pool at £370,000 Barbados home

A Place in the Sun fans were brought to a shocking disappointment when host Craig Rowe took his guests to the sunny Caribbean island of Barbados in search for a luxury home.

Looking for a perfect holiday home that would be big enough to fit for a big family and a dog, cash buyers Lesley and Ken were hoping to buy a property with a maximum budget of £350,000.

The couple from Bolton asked for a minimum of two-bedroom property and outside space so their Welsh terrier Ziggy could have a fun time in a garden.

To show them a place with more room on the property, Craig brought them to a new complex with only three townhouses.

"Now I'm going to be showing you the show home because the property that's for sale isn't quite yet finished," he explained.

"But we are stopping by a little, sort of, plunge pool area.

"What do you think of the kerb appeal when you look at it from here?"

Lesley and Ken were not too fussed by the size of the pool and said: "Looks lovely, great. Could do with that now!"

But viewers felt differently as they shared their thoughts on Twitter.

One complained: "Communal plunge pool! Looks like a foot bath for verrucas."

"That plunge pool, aka the puddle, looks like someone's taken a dump in it already," a second blasted and a third imagined that it would be a "tight squeeze" to get into the plunge pool with other residents.

Some were mistaken that each property comes with one plunge pool until they realised it was actually shared.

"That place is a no for the money – I can't get past that crappy plunge pool and the living room is tiny," another added.

After the viewing, Lesley and Ken ruled out the property as it's too dark inside and not enough outside space for the family and their dog.
