Amir Khan says he ‘saw down barrel of gun’ as mugger threatened to kill him
Amir Khan revealed that he was recently held up at gunpoint by a mugger while coming home from dinner with his wife.
The former boxing champion and Faryal Makhdoom were out in Leyton, east London, when the shocking incident occurred and a man threatened to shoot Amir if he didn’t hand over his swanky watch.
Amir, 35, said the gun was held to his head while Faryal “was a few steps behind” and he just handed over the watch, which was worth around £50,000.

Recalling the upsetting incident on Keith Lemon's new show, Shopping with Keith Lemon, Amir said: “It’s crazy, we went for something to eat at a steak house and I was literally walking to the car and getting my hand out when a guy comes and pushes me and put a gun to my head and says ‘take off your watch’”.
Amir, who is now a boxing promoter, said he thought it was a joke and said: "What’s going on?”
He went on: “But then he said ‘give me your watch or I’m going to shoot you’ and I literally saw down the barrel of the gun.”
Luckily Faryal, 31, was not in the firing line and said she stood in the middle of the road screaming for help, shouting: "There’s a gun, there’s a gun!”.
Amir said: “I took my watch off and said ‘there you go’, I didn’t want the gun in my face any longer.
“Life is way more important to me."
The boxer then went on to do a bit of a stealth boast by casually mentioning his watch was worth £50,000 but he “had money in the bank so he’s okay”.
Faryal then said she “couldn’t stop thinking about it” and was imagining if Amir had been shot and what would happen to their children.
Meanwhile Amir also recently revealed how he lost £ 5 million through “silly investments” but bounced back thanks to his wife.
He was one of Britain’s biggest sports stars in the noughties and early 2010s, where he became the unified light-welterweight champion of the world. His early success threw him into the limelight with various endorsements and eventually earned him millions of pounds in fight money.
He said: “Mental health is a very big thing and it’s good that people start talking about it, because mental health problems have happened to the best of us, like Tyson Fury and other fighters.
“I’ve had massive [mental health] problems. Back in 2016, I had a big fallout with my wife. I didn’t box – two years out the ring, put on weight, and was not happy with myself.
"I don’t know what it was – I had a hand operation, and I went back to training, and it was still hurting me. I had to get another operation on it, and another one – I had three operations on it before it was alright. I really thought that I was never going to fight again.
That put me on a downer, knowing that I’m at the peak of my career, but I can’t fight. At that time, I made some silly investments which were not paying me back. I’m thinking, how am I going to live my life?”
Khan and Faryal Makhdoom married in 2013, but separated in 2017 in a public spat before reconciling again later that year. He went on to cite his wife as a key figure in preventing similar financial mistakes in his business ventures, having previously set up a shisha bar, restaurants and a coffee shop.
The retired boxer said: “I lost £5m through different investments, which was at the same time as my hand operation, so you can imagine the spiral I was heading into – I'd lost a load of money and I couldn’t box because of my hand.
“I built a wedding hall in Bolton, which cost around £12m. Someone took advantage of me whilst I was boxing and in training camp and caught me at a time when I kept saying yes to everything. What helped me was getting my wife involved as she started to scrutinise every little detail.
