Amy tells horrified Summer that Aaron raped her in Corrie – then gets bad news

Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) has revealed the truth about what happened between her and Aaron Sandford (James craven) to best friend Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) in Coronation Street.

Summer confronted Amy in the previous episode, after learning from Aaron that the two friends had slept together behind Summer’s back.

Before Amy had a chance to tell her side of the story, Summer stormed off.

In more recent scenes, she decided it was time for the two of them to talk.

Amy was reluctant, but Summer insisted that she was owed an explanation and an apology, seeing as Amy had slept with her boyfriend.

Viewers will know that Aaron hasn’t told Summer the full truth, as he and Amy didn’t just ‘sleep together’.

In harrowing scenes aired earlier this month, Aaron took advantage of a drunk Amy, who had fallen unconscious on her bed after they’d shared a kiss.

Amy woke up the next day with no memory of the event, only to realise later that she had been raped.

She revealed this to Summer, who found it difficult to believe at first.

However, it soon became clear that she was on Amy’s side, and believed her version of events over boyfriend Aaron’s.

With Summer now fighting her corner, things seemed to be looking up for Amy.

Unfortunately, that was all about to change as Amy received a visit from the police.

The officer informed her and her family that they were going to have to drop the case, as the CPS didn’t believe that there was enough evidence to prosecute.

Tracy and Steve (Kate Ford and Simon Gregson) were furious, and Amy understandably devastated.

Having heard the news from Aaron, Summer paid Amy a visit to offer her support as she came to terms with the decision.

Still livid and desperate to get justice for her daughter, Tracy came up with a plan to raise awareness of the low conviction rates in rape cases.

The protective mother designed a flyer stating these facts, though Amy was against the idea, terrified that people may realise what had happened to her.

Despite her daughter’s concerns, Tracy secretly printed the flyers in the middle of the night.

Will this decision have the effect she hopes for, or will it come back to bite her?
