BBC Breakfast's Ben Thompson 'really worried' as co-star fights VOMITING | The Sun

THINGS got a little too stomach churning for Victoria Fritz as she looked at newspaper headlines with Ben Thompson.

The BBC Breakfast presenter was "really worried" when his co-star looked close to vomiting on the air.

Each morning, hosts of BBC One's morning show have taken the habit of going through the newspaper headlines of the day.

But this morning (Wednesday, August 3, 2022), these turned out to be bad news for Victoria Fritz.

Ben Thompson stumbled upon the picture of a woman with 42-foot long nails – a story covered by The Sun – and the BBC Breakfast team had been trying to imagine what the individual's life would be like.

Perhaps forgetting how close to breakfast time some of them may be off-screen, Ben told viewers: "Can we just show you this picture? Because it's kind of amazing but also a little bit disgusting."

However, Victoria was the one to have the strongest reaction to the headline as she stuck out her tongue and made a retching noise.

This didn't stop Ben from insisting as he continued to point out: "42-foot fingernails. Can you see them? You need to sort of get the full sense of… Those are the fingernails."

Ben held up the page to the camera to reveal the fingernails were painted in rainbow hues and plunged down, underlining the fact they're much longer than the woman's body.

Victoria eventually managed to chime in by adding: "Just so you've got some sense of scale, this woman is actually… she's standing on a flight of stairs and they're actually longer than her. Crazy."

"She's been growing them for 25 years", Ben explained.

"We've been discussing how she does anything with fingernails that are 42 feet long."

"But she says her kids and her grandkids help her polish them – it takes up to five hours, apparently."

Although she tried to remain cool-headed, Victoria couldn't stop herself from gagging, clearly put off by the woman's nails.

Ben responded with concern and admitted: "Yeah, I'm really confused and worried by that. Sorry."

His co-host didn't want to go detail but she hinted that things got racy behind the scenes, mere days after the program was pulled off the air due to technical issues.

"Yeah. You don't even want to know what we were talking about, the things you wouldn't be able to do! But you can just imagine", Victoria said.

Ben went on: "I'm sure people can imagine!"

This prompted Victoria to remind Ben how early it was, undoubtedly urging him to stop putting viewers off their breakfast: "We'll leave it like that. It's quite early in the morning, isn't it Ben?"
